Crews from the Anacostia Fire Department stayed busy throughout the morning and early afternoon dealing with building collapses around the city. At 0928 hours the collapse task force was dispatched to 3410 10th St. N.E for the roof collapse of a row house. Units arrived to find the same. The CITF set up some vertical shoring to prevent further collapse. At 1329 hours the CITF responded to 4322 Sheriff Rd. N.E for the church collapse. Units arrived to find just that a total collapse of a church, with no lives in jeopardy the CITF was placed in service. The CITF continued to run similar calls throughout the day and the rest of the evening all of which had no significant damage.
